Frequently asked questions
Practical answers before you enquire.
This development version includes the questions the final site should answer. Replace provisional answers as your operating details are confirmed.
Riding
Horses and ability
What riding level is required?
The signature trail is intended for confident beginner riders and above. Riders should independently control a horse at walk, trot and canter in open country.
How many hours do we ride?
The provisional plan allows approximately four to six hours on full riding days, with adjustments for terrain, weather and group ability. Short breaks are taken approximately every hour, with a longer two-hour break around lunchtime for riders and horses to rest
Is there a rider weight limit?
The maximum rider weight is 120 kg. For riders weighing over 100 kg, rides are limited to walking pace.
Are helmets compulsory?
Helmets are recommended for all riders and mandatory for beginners.
Tour arrangements
Groups and programme
How large are the groups?
The current working range for the signature trail is one to ten riders.
Can solo travellers join?
Potentially, on scheduled departures. Availability and any single-room supplement must be confirmed.
Can non-riders join?
This depends on transport, accommodation and daily programme. Ask about a private journey rather than assuming a parallel non-riding itinerary is available.
Can you arrange a private departure?
Yes, subject to horses, guides, accommodation, route conditions and a viable group budget.
Travel
Arrival and insurance
Which airport should I use?
The closest airport is CLJ - Cluj, aprox 1h from ranch. Do not book flights until the arrival window is confirmed.
Do I need travel insurance?
Yes. The final terms should require suitable medical, cancellation and horse-riding cover for the activities included.
Are transfers included?
Transfers within stated windows may be included. Private or out-of-window transfers may cost extra.
Accommodation
Rooms and meals
Are rooms private?
Double and twin room format at comfortable, modern accommodation. "Two stars" - generally known facilities, at local small businesses. Single occupancy may require a supplement and may not be available every night.
Are bathrooms en suite?
Yes. Any shared facilities will be clearly disclosed.
Can dietary requirements be accommodated?
Many common requirements may be possible with advance notice, but allergies and complex diets must be verified before confirmation.
Booking
Reservations and changes
How do I reserve a place?
Send an enquiry first. A place should become confirmed only after you receive the final itinerary, booking terms and payment instructions.
Is a deposit required?
The deposit amount and payment schedule still need to be set in the booking conditions.
What happens if the itinerary changes?
Routes may change for weather, trail conditions, safety or horse welfare. The final terms should explain how equivalent alternatives are handled.
